CLIENT SITUATION
Our client is a Boston-based technology staffing firm. They had no social media efforts and didn’t understand the social medium. They understood intellectually that candidate flow could be driven through social media efforts, but they didn’t know how to get there. Since there was no one with social media expertise in-house, they didn’t know how to begin the process of creating social media profiles or how to use the medium to drive lead generation results. They knew that developing a sound strategy was imperative to the success of their efforts and that their efforts would lead to improved candidate flow.
Overall issues included:

- Did not know how to create an effective approach
- No understanding of how to generate leads

We determined that their social media needed to be focused on driving candidates back to our client’s website. We developed a social media strategy that was designed to reach consultants and candidates. Inherently it was necessary to have some client interaction; therefore, a small amount of content was dedicated to client-oriented communication. We developed a strategy to build a highly targeted audience on each social media site, while generating applicant flow.
With the new look and feel of their website, we used a similar look and feel and applied it consistently through each social media profile. We kept their blueprinting careers theme along with our client’s new logo and created Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google + profiles.
We developed an editorial calendar to map out the content for a blog within our social media strategy. We focused on building a target audience through original content as well as repurposed content to distribute through each social media site. The content from their blog was then published throughout their different social media channels, increasing search engine optimization results and overall page rankings.
